ABOUT US.... Millman’s Appliances cares about the community! Much of its proceeds go directly back into the local area via its contributions and its professional business alliances. Your money stays here to make our community a better place. We take our community responsibility seriously.

Millman’s has been an active member of the community and strives to relate to the area’s residents in a number of ways. We take care of local charities through our ”Used Appliance Program” where we remove old appliances for free, then salvage parts to repair other units. We then donate many of these refurbished appliances to area citizens who have been victims of fire, economic downturns, struggling single parent homes, elderly citizens, as well as many other charitable situations.

OUR HISTORY...
The founder of Millman's Appliances,Inc, Howard Millman, owned and operated Millman's Appliances since 1985. In 2003 he turned the reins over to Gary L. Chorman, hand picked and developed as his successor. Mr. Millman did not want his very successful appliance store to go out of business upon his retirement, and chose Gary Chorman and his wife Tracy to be the team to carry on the store's reputation for excellence.

Chorman, who holds a masters of science degree from Wilmington College, resides in Sussex County, Delaware with his family, and will be found on-site, at Millmans Appliances almost everyday. His committment to the business, to his customers, and to his community are quite evident. He takes great pride in being a cornerstone in the business community and strives to be the best!

Bruce Hermann and Gary Chorman Receive
2010 Community Service
 and People’s Place Supporter Award

Bruce Herman and Gary Chorman have created and organized the Annual Radio-A-Thon to benefit the People’s Place Group Homes for Adolescents for the past three years raising over $10,000 to help the youth with activity fees and everyday necessities as well as extra special gifts for the holiday season.  They both feel that it is a pleasure and privilege to help these young people who deserve a better life and thank the community-at-large for all their support.
The radio-a-thon is held at Millman’s Appliance Center at 18920 Coastal Hwy. in Rehoboth Beach in December.  WGMD Radio Station provides Bill Colley each year who emcees the event and helps    make the radio-a-thon such a great success.  This year’s event is already being planned with a date to be announced soon.
People’s Place greatly appreciates all the hard work and dedication that Bruce Hermann and Gary Chorman contribute and all the other volunteers who help make the holidays brighter for the youth in their Group Homes.  The two People’s Place Group Homes (one in Milford and one in Townsend) house 16 boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 18 who have come through the foster care system providing them with a home-like environment.  The program emphasizes independent living skills and appropriate social skills to prepare the youth to live independently after graduation from high school.
People's Place is dedicated to becoming the agency of choice to “help people find their path to growth and independence”. To this end, People's Place identifies the social/mental needs of Delaware residents and facilitates the provision of services to address those needs.  People's Place is a non-profit human services organization with sites in Dover, Milford, Millsboro, Seaford, and Smyrna offering many varied services to the residents of central and southern Delaware and surrounding communities.
